Step-Tec Spindles for Aerospace & Energy

The choice of the right spindle is decisive for efficiency and finishing quality in the machining process. That's why spindles from Step-Tec differ in their design and performance depending on the application in a machine tool.

 

In this application we have the toughest requirements for a motor spindle. For example, in contrast to mold construction, here it is important to achieve the greatest possible chip volume in the shortest possible time. This is often achieved with long tools, high speeds, high performance, and therefore high vibrations. As a result, a spindle with a very high dynamic stiffness is required.

FEM (finite elements) calculations are therefore mandatory. The speed range for the HSK-A100 tool interface is a maximum of 18,000 rpm and ends with the HSK-A63 at a maximum of 40,000 rpm.
